- The BTech degree program is for a duration of four years consisting of 8 semesters and 42 courses
- There are six courses in each semester leading to 24 or 25 credits including theory, tutorials, and practicals
- The specialization courses in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biomaterial and Biomedical engineering are offered as electives in semester Vth
- As the teaching is mainly hands-on, the students are required to carry out intensive project work at the institute. The last semester includes an external project to be conducted at a national research laboratory or an industry in the particular domain or at the institute itself
- The project will be evaluated by a viva-voce presided by a three experts panel
