International Women’s Day 2021

MIT School of Bioengineering Sciences & Research (MITBIO) celebrated International Women’s Day, on March 08, 2021. The purpose of the celebration was to raise awareness about the struggle and achievements of women all around the globe and appriciate their indomitable spirit. This special day is acause for celebration, a reason to pause andre-evaluate a remembrance, an inspiration and atime to honor, love andadmire the wonder women around us.The theme of the event was “Women scientists at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19”.

The event was flagged off by our beloved Head of School Dr. Renu Vyas who inaugurated the event and graced the occasion with her welcome message talking about the importance of the day, the struggles of women around the globe and the inspirational women all around us. An audiovisual content was played thereafter depicting the struggles and triumphs of many inspirational Indian women. MITBIO organized many activities like Experience sharing session, wherein faculties shared stories of inspirational women in their life, Quiz session wherein all teaching and non-teaching faculties participated and all questions were asked based on women achievement. The talent hunt session that followed showcased hidden talents of our faculty members who sang, danced and performed various art form based on women’s day theme.

The head of School Dr. Renu Vyas also moderated a very interesting session “Women's Role at the forefront of ongoing challenge of COVID-19” an University organized event spreading awareness regarding the importance of creatinggender-balanced environment in the educational arena for women.The distinguished chief guests for this program were Nivedita Saboo, Founder and Chief Designer, Nivedita Saboo Couture, Pune, and Laleh Busheri, CEO, Prashanti Cancer Care Mission, Pune. The IWD2021, MITBIO event was concluded with vote of thanks from the event organizers.
