Dr. Nayana Patil (Associate Professor)

Her research interests are in epigenetics, nanoparticle synthesis and its application, nanotoxicity, nanoepigenetic toxicity and proteomics. She instigated her research from BARC, Mumbai and pursued her Ph.D in Biotechnology were she elucidated the role of epigenetics in polyextremophilic bacteria Deinococcus radiodurans with respect to DNA repair and radiation resistance. Her post doctorate research her work involved identification of protein biomarkers and correlation to epigenetics in mouse and mammalian cell lines as model system. Her research work has led to 5 international publications. She is currently working on a project relating to the innovative applications of nanoparticles and molecular mechanism of nanotoxicity.
